In honour of Michael Parasiuk’s contributions to community building and activism, family and friends have established a memorial fund in his name at SFU.

SFU alumnus, Michael Parasiuk, passed away September 3, 2020 at the age of 50. Michael graduated with a BA in Political Science in 1994 and was an active collective member of The Peak, working towards building communities and improving campus life. In his professional life, Michael became very involved in Indigenous affairs and was very pleased to know that Simon Fraser University had developed programs in Indigenous Studies.

An initial contribution of $30,000 towards Michael's memorial fund has been made by the Parasiuk and Lawry families. If you are so inclined, please consider making a gift as a tribute to Michael's memory.
